Three Duluth robotics teams heading to Worlds in April

Three Duluth robotics teams are heading to the World Championships in Houston next month.

For the first time in history, three Duluth robotics teams are heading to the World Championships.

The Spaceotics, Rogue Cats, and Devildogs are so excited about this opportunity.

Joe Greicar, from Spaceotics, said, “We have good chemistry, and we have fun as a team together. And that really helps us.” They took home first place at state.

Spaceotics is the FIRST LEGO team, and the other two are FIRST TECH Challenge teams.

Rogue Cats member Emmett Manor said it was stressful winning their competition. “I thought we might make it to the finals, but I didn’t think we’d win the whole thing.”

The Devildogs earned their spot with an Inspire Award. Cora Bruno explained, “We have judging before hand, and judges get to know the team and the robot. The Inspire Award basically means we excelled in all categories, like engineering performance and outreach to the community.”

The Worlds competition is coming up in Houston, next month.
