Superior Business Improvement District’s group for women

March is Women in Business month, and the Northland has a Women in Business Group to share and connect.

The Superior Business Improvement District has a Women in Business group that meets monthly to learn together and support each other.

Kelly Peterson said the majority of Superior small business owners are women, and coming out of the pandemic, she realized they needed a sense of connection.

“Originally, I began it with just the Business Improvement District, just the BID stakeholders,” Peterson said. “But there was so much excitement, I guess, that was generated for it for other businesses in Superior that other people wanted to come and participate too.”

Amy Ugstad owns One Up Creative and said she thinks women are programmed to want to help each other.

“Groups like this I think really work well in the fact that we’re forming these different connections and able to have kind of that community that is more about collaboration than competition,” Ugstad said. “We might do the same things, but there are ways that we can help each other grow.”

The next meeting is April 8. Event details are posted on Facebook.

They also post resources on superiorbid.com.
