Tech Bytes: Apple holds off on releasing iPhone with no port
In today's Tech Bytes, ABC's Andrew Dymburt breaks down Apple's new iPhone with no port. Then unpacks Amazon's latest update with Alexa sharing voice recordings to the cloud.
In today’s Tech Bytes, Apple is reportedly holding off on making the next iPhone portless. Bloomberg says the company considered a portless design for an upcoming iPhone model, with all charging done wirelessly, but they didn’t want to run afoul of EU requirements for USB-C connectors.
Next, Amazon is eliminating a feature that allows users of some Alexa devices to stop their voice recordings from being sent to the cloud. Starting March 28th, voice commands made to Alexa will automatically be sent to the cloud. Amazon says the move is aimed at expanding Alexa’s capabilities with generative AI.
Finally, California-based Joby is teaming up with Virgin Atlantic to launch an air taxi service in the UK. The all-electric aircraft will seat five and will be able to reach a top speed of 200 miles per hour. Seats will be bookable through Virgin’s website or app.
