Ashland alum claims second straight DIII national championship

On Saturday, Jared Stricker, who wrestles for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, became a back to back wrestling national champion.
Stricker defeat Alvernia’s Nathan Lackman 7-1 on Saturday for his second straight title. Stricker holds the UWEC and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record for most wins with 169, and the UWEC record for most pins with 75.
While at Ashland High School, Stricker was a three-time state finalist, winning the division II 170 lbs division as a senior.
