Lea Zmurko: Catching a quick break from snow today
The snow yesterday rebuilt many of the snowbanks around northern Minnesota. Areas along the Borderlands reported 5-8 inches of snow falling as many had to layer back up to shovel and maintain the sidewalks and roadways.
Conditions today will be dry, calm, and clouded as temperatures stay in the upper 30s, but another disturbance is approaching for tonight and tomorrow. This time central MN and northern WI into the UP will be the focus as a strong clipper prepares to cross the Upper Midwest.

Several counties in northeastern Wisconsin and stretching into the Upper Peninsula are highlighted with a Winter Storm Watch. It will start as a light wintry mix tonight before switching into snow as the sun rises on Wednesday. With the falling snow, winds will be gusting near 30 mph and contributing to poor visibility and the shaping of snow drifts leading to poor travel for both the morning and evening commutes across Wisconsin.

Quiet conditions will round out the end of this week, but a quick disturbance on Sunday will likely start the following week with widespread precipitation
