Sen. Rob Farnsworth replaces Eichorn as new chair of IRRRB

The state senator from Hibbing, Rob Farnsworth, is now the chair of the IRRRB.

Members voted on this during a special meeting in St. Paul on Wednesday morning.

He replaces Justin Eichorn, who resigned his senate seat after his arrest for alleged solicitation of a minor.

A large group of steelworkers stood in the room with the board members, as they are down there for a lobby day.

Farnsworth thanked the men and women from the mining industry, saying the agency would not have funds without taconite production taxes.

He and others pledged their support as two of the mines, HibTac and Minorca, are facing major layoffs.
