By day, Stephanie Irwin sees patients as a gastroenterologist. But at sunrise and in other off hours, she’s often found by the water with a camera.

When she got married and moved to Duluth, she really picked up a camera.

“I actually followed Destination Duluth about the time I came, admired a lot of the photographers, and said, ‘Hey, I want to go out and take pictures of these sunrises and these ships and everything Duluth has to offer,'” Irwin said, “and that’s exactly what I did.”

Destination Duluth shares her photos to promote the beauty of Northland living.

Dr. Irwin especially loves sunrises and ships.

“There’s such a dichotomy in medicine, and it can be very stressful,” she said. “And I think going out, capturing a sunrise really sets the tone for the day.”
