In just five days the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey season will begin. With the puck set to officially drop on their season opener this Saturday.
The National Champion runners-up from a year ago are looking to stay true to their values and underdog mentality this season.
“A lot of motivation and I think our group is just a really proud group. We love playing in the WCHA and we know we’re a bit of an underdog in this league. We love to prove people wrong, so I think that is the fighting spirit here,” said head coach Maura Crowell.
UMD is set to start the season with four consecutive road games. The first against LIU this Saturday starts at 6:45p.m. with their home opener against MSU Mankato on October 7th.
