Annual Northern Lights Foundation Children’s Charity Gala

The Northern Lights Foundation held their annual gala Thursday evening to raise money for their family grants. The grants are used to support local families of children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

This event is the largest fundraising event held by the foundation all year. Guest of the Children’s Charity Gala were able to enjoy a meal, presentation and both live and silent auctions. Attendees of this year’s gala also heard from the Vikre family and learned of the hardships their family endured while their child was fighting for their life. Northern Lights stressed the importance of community support and urged locals to donate.

 Foundation volunteer Ken Larson states, “The money that we raise, it stays local. We don’t send it out to a national organization or anything. So everything raised here stays in the area.” All the families that receive these donations are Northland community members.
