Justin Liles: Periods of rain and snow

A large low currently spinning just north of the International Border, will affect our weather the rest of the week and through the weekend. Periods of rain/snow is possible during this entire period as temperatures drop below normal. The northern part of our viewing area north of HWY 2 will be the most primed region for snowfall and potentially enough to accumulate on grassy surfaces.

Winds will be breezy the rest of the week too. Highs by the weekend will stay in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Strong northerly winds are possible through the weekend and could lead to accumulating snow along the Snow Belt region of the south shore Saturday night through Monday. Cooler than normal weather looks to stay with us through Tuesday.

TONIGHT: A chance of rain showers before 4am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 4am and 5am, then a chance of snow showers after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
THURSDAY: A slight chance of snow showers before 9am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
FRIDAY: A chance of rain and snow, Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41.
SATURDAY: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
SUNDAY: A slight chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
