Wilderness’ Matt Smith named NAHL Goalie of the Month

The Minnesota Wilderness’ Matthew Smith has been named the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Goaltender of the Month for March.

Throughout March, Smith stopped 236 of 253 shots face to tally a .933 save percentage and 1.81 goals against average for a 7-1-1 record.

The 19-year-old from Fenton, Missouri joined the team in mid-January, and in that time has posted a 12-1-1 overall record.

The Wilderness have four regular season games remaining, with their next series scheduled in Janesville Friday and Saturday. Puck drop against the Jets is set for 7pm both nights.
