This weekend the No.10 Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team was swept by Wisconsin in their back-to-back home series. Losing the first game 5-2, and being shut out in the second 3-0.
“To me, when things aren’t going well, you find ways to simplify your game. Shorten your shifts, you don’t train complicated it, just play hard and play tough,” said head coach Scott Sandelin.
The team now has an overall record of 2-4, while also dropping their last four games in a row.
In that span the Bulldogs have been outscored 16-3. A trend that they are looking to change with the help of their forechecking abilities.
“Think we’re just right now we’re not saying to our game plan. I mean, Sandy’s preached it hundreds of times. We got to get in on the four check and we’re not working as a group to do that. So it’s kind of holding us back,” said senior forward Quinn Olson.
Up next the Bulldogs will be home this coming Friday and Saturday against Cornell.
