Emily Fletcher, who goes by @midwestbookqueen on Instagram, shared her November nonfiction reading recommendations.
Her first is “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls. She said it’s one of her favorite books of all time.
“I read it in one setting,” Fletcher said. “It had me in tears. Just a very compulsive read. A little bit on the heavier side. It deals with poverty, there’s some addiction and mental health.”
The second recommendation is “Finding Freedom” by Erin French. It was one of her favorite books of 2021.
“Erin owns a restaurant in Freedom, Maine, which is why it’s called ‘Finding Freedom,'” she said. “It’s this tiny town. She has this ridiculously successful restaurant there.”
Finally, Fletcher suggests picking up “Taste” by Stanley Tucci. She said while celebrity memoirs can be “hit or miss,” this one was a hit. It’s told through the lens of food.
“When you read it, you can just like hear him talking. It just sounds like Stanley Tucci,” she said.
