On Saturday, November 19th, Deer River Football will get their shot at a state championship berth.
The Warriors got revenge over Mahnomen/Waubun, who eliminated them back in 2018. The Warriors notched a 26-14 win in the Class A quarterfinals last Friday.
They now enter the semifinals with an unblemished 12-0 record taking on 10-2 Springfield.
Senior Offensive and Defensive Lineman Mason Olson know what his team has to do, “focus on those small details. Coach has been preaching that since day one, details details details. Just fire off the ball and hit them in the mouth as hard as we can.”
“No one is satisfied with just saying we’re the team that went to the Bank, you know. We want to be the best team in single A, the best team in the state. So, we want to win every game down there,” said Senior Quarterback Sam Rahier.
Kickoff between Deer River and Springfield is set for Saturday at 9 A.M. at U.S. Bank Stadium.
