We are less than 24 hours away from puck drop on the NCAA womens hockey Frozen Four at State College in Pennsylvania. Where UMD is set to take on Northeastern.
The Bulldogs own Gabbie Hughes was announced as a top three Patty Kazmaier award finalist. Given to the top player in D1 womens hockey. She’s also one of five up for the hockey humanitarian honor. Her game winning goal against the Gophers last weekend has now lifted UMD to their second straight frozen four
"It’s fun to be here every time and to see the big logos everywhere, and the rink, and the boards and stuff. It is the same, it’s as amazing as it was a couple years ago and I am really happy to be here," said Elizabeth Giguere.
"It feels a little bit more like ya we have been here before, and we have our sights set on some pretty lofty goals," added head coach Maura Crowell.
The team fell to Northeastern in this same game last season so its revenge time. Fridays puck drop is at 2:30 pm central time here at Pegula Ice Arena.
