Actress Christina Stroup says, “it’s a really fun way to take something like a classic like Dickens’ ‘Christmas Carol’ and turn it around and put it in a tiny Minnesotan town dive bar.”
The show is also brining audiences back to the spirit of the north theatre. Director Dennis F. Johnson says, “There’s was a short break for five or six years where it wasn’t really being utilized. And now that we’re here and doing full seasons, it’s really nice to have that that energy back in the space.”
Owner of the production company, Jason Vincent says, “It was one of our missions when we first started up to be able to showcase more local talent. We’ve lost a couple of opportunities in our community recently to do that, and we thought, what better opportunity to do it than starting a wonderful production company inside this beautiful theater?”
The show follows a similar plot to a Christmas Carol with songs added to add to the silliness of the show. Actress Tanya More says, “This is silly Christmas. I mean, it’s the Christmas Carol, but ridiculous. You know, we talk about cheese and snowmobiles and just it’s fun. It’s just fun silly humor.”
