Buck rescued from frigid Red Lake River

Northlanders are used to helping each other, especially during a snowstorm. But it isn’t every day that you see a volunteer fire department rescue a trophy-sized buck from the frigid waters. The Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department did just that.
According to the Daily Globe, the non-typical, whitetail buck fell into the icy Red Lake River Monday morning and the fire department went to work after they received a call.
The Volunteer Fire Department posted photos of the rescue on their Facebook page, saying “We’re happy to announce that this beautiful Buck will live another day. I am proud of our Firefighters and their commitment to helping when called.”
Clearly our first responders do a lot more than respond to car accidents and put out fires.
“Thank you for all the support our community gives us, we are blessed!!!” the Facebook post says.
We think the whitetail buck was blessed as well.
