3 first time goal scorers lift No. 5 UMD to victory over No. 4 Gophers

Three Bulldogs scored their first career goals Friday night helping lift the number five University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team to a 5-3 series opening win over number four University of Minnesota.

Owen Gallatin, Wyatt Kaiser, and Casey Gilling each scored their first goals in a UMD sweater.

Scoring two goals in the first and second periods the Bulldogs tacked on the final from Gilling to seal the 5-3 victory.

UMD (4-1) and the Gophers will close out the series Saturday night at Duluth’s AMSOIL Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:07pm.
