Alessi scores two lifting UWS women’s soccer past CSS

Allison Alessi scored twice helping the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s soccer team top the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) 2-1 Tuesday afternoon.

Morgan Friday scored the sole goal for the Saints.

The Yellowjackets’ win marked just their second in 20 all-time matches against CSS. Their last came in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) semifinal in 2018.

UWS also won the new bridge battle rivalry trophy, the Golden Anchor, in their first meeting with the Saints since CSS departed the UMAC for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
