Australia reopens its border after 19 months

Australia has opened its borders for the first time since March 2020. Fully vaccinated Australian permanent residents and citizens are now free to travel abroad.

Australia imposed some of the world’s most draconian travel restrictions to block coronavirus spread. The vast majority of Australian permanent residents and citizens have been stranded in the island nation since March last year.
