Big donation to Circle of Hope

Representatives from DC Testing, Wine Beginnings, and Art on the Planet presented a donation from the proceeds of The Annual "Alice B Tour of Terror" and Pink Birdhouse Breast Cancer raffle to the Duluth Chapter of Circle of Hope Friday morning.

Between contributions and participation, a total of $1,154.00 was raised.

This community fundraising effort was the result of a partnership between DC Testing, Wine Beginnings, Art on the Planet and Wood Crafts by Dave to support the Cancer Care Packages provided by the Circle of Hope to breast cancer survivors in the northland.

For Kelli Hashey, owner of DC Testing, the annual fundraiser holds personal meaning.

“Twenty-five years my sister and I lost our mother to breast cancer and it is our hope that eventually nobody ever has to lose a mom or grandma to this horrible disease, but in the meantime women who struggling and fighting this disease, there’s a place called the Circle of Hope,” Hashey said.

Hashey also took a moment to thank everyone who participated this year.

“It was pretty awesome. I mean people were very giving. We’re very appreciative to everyone who participated and volunteered, and helped out ,as well as donated, to this cause.”
