Body of swimmer found in Thunder Bay’s Marina Park Harbour
The death of a swimmer in Thunder Bay’s Marina Park Harbour is under investigation.
The Thunder Bay Police Service says a person called 911 shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday to report that a male swimmer had not returned to shore.
Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue launched a boat to search the area and located him a short time later. Crews from Fire & Rescue and Superior North EMS attempted life-saving efforts, but the male was later prounced dead.
The name and age of the male were not released.
Police say an investigation is underway, and a post-mortem exam is pending.
