Bulldog basketball sweeps Bemidji, men off to a program-best start

After defeating Bemidji State University (BSU) during a road trip on Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s basketball team is now off to their best start in program history.
The Bulldogs downed BSU 87-64 to improve to 8-0 on the season. Drew Blair led the charge scoring 23 points, while Austin Andrews contributed 16 points and 15 rebounds.
They’ll look to continue their hot streak hosting the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at 2pm.
Also in Bemidji, the UMD women picked up a close 61-59 win over the Beavers thanks to Payton Kahl. She scored the game-winning basket with two seconds left in the game for a total of nine points on the night. Brooke Olson led the team tallying 19 points.
With their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) win of the season under their belts the Bulldogs (3-3) will hunt for another hosting Minnesota Crookston Saturday at 4pm.
