On Saturday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team will take the final snaps of the 2021 regular season against Northern State University.
The Bulldogs have all the momentum coming off a massive 41-15 upset over number 17 Augustana University over the weekend. UMD was led by quarterback Garrett Olson who passed for 171 yards and three touchdowns, while adding a rushing touchdown. Meanwhile wide receiver Armani Carmickle surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season during the big win.
"With that win we’ve put ourselves in the position to potentially be in the national playoffs which ultimately is the goal for our program," head coach Curt Wiese said. "Last weekend we felt a lot of pressure and the need to win, we knew it was kind of win or go home. This weekend it’s only built a little bit more."
UMD enters this Saturday’s Senior Day game 8-2 overall on the season. Kickoff is set for 1:05pm at Malosky Stadium.
