Cloquet football head coach Lenarz hits 100th win

On Tuesday the Cloquet football team downed Duluth Denfeld 34-12 in the section 7AAAA quarterfinals, handing Tom Lenarz his 100th career win.
He said reaching the milestone after a Covid-19 and injury riddled season made it extra special.
Lenarz took over the head coaching position in 2003, and 19 years later was able to grace the century mark thanks to a big support system.
"It’s just a testament to all the great people I’ve had around me that allowed me to coach for 19 years. Our first couple years were pretty rocky so there was a lot of people in the administration and in the community that were patient. It’s really not about me it’s about us as a group," Lenarz said.
Cloquet will visit North Branch in the Section 7AAAA semifinals Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
