Cloquet’s Sam Baker signs NLI to golf at Florida Gulf Coast

The national signing period began on Wednesday and on Thursday the good news kept coming out of the Northland.
Cloquet’s Sam Baker officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play golf at Florida Gulf Coast University.
"The coach was really nice to me, I mean he really wanted me, he was calling me everyday and it just felt like home," Baker said. He added "there was a couple guys on the team actually from Minnesota so that kind of helped me out."
He also chose Florida since the location will allow him to improve his game all year round.
This past spring Baker was an individual Minnesota State High School golf champion, and helped the Lumberjacks to a state team title. He also earned a spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
