Dig Pink 2021 raises money for breast cancer survivors

Two volleyball teams competed on the court, but worked together to raise money for a good cause. Tuesday night was "Dig Pink 2021" for the Superior Spartans!
"Dig" is the volleyball term for the first contact with the ball. The annual event at the Superior-Duluth East volleyball game raises money for the Side-Out Foundation, which is named after the volleyball term meaning to regain control of the ball. The group supports breast cancer survivors.
"It’s something near and dear to me. I had a family member that is a breast cancer survivor. So it’s just a great cause to be a part of and be able to give back in a way," said Rob Hering, the event’s volunteer coordinator.
"It’s just a great all-around event, brings everybody together. Duluth East does an awesome job of supporting us as well," Hering said.
"Dig pink" raises money through silent auctions, raffles, t-shirts, and a bake sale.
