Driver dies after crossing center line in Sawyer Co.

A driver died in Sawyer County on Monday morning when his car crossed the center line and hit an oncoming semi-truck.

Sheriff Douglas Mrotek says the crash happened on State Highway 70 one mile west of County Highway EE in the Town of Draper. It was reported at 5:22 a.m.

Mrotek says 35-year-old William J. Bohn of Rib Lake, Wis., was westbound on the highway when his car crossed the center line and colided head-on with an eastbound semi-tractor/trailer. Bohn, the only occupant of the car, received fatal injuries.

The Hayward man who was driving the semi-truck received very minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office is working with the Wisonsin State Patrol and the Sawyer County Coroner’s Office to investigate the crash. Sawyer County EMS and the Draper, Winter, and Radisson fire departments also responded to the scene.
