Despite scoring two first period goals the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) women’s hockey team suffered a 5-2 loss to Hamline University Friday at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Mariah Haedrich scored in the first two minutes of the game with Taylor Thompson adding another on a power-play in the 6th minute to give CSS the 2-0 lead. However Hamline would score five unanswered goals to claim the conference win.

Lori Huseby made 33 saves in net for the Saints.

This marked their first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) loss of the season.

Now 5-3-1 overall, and 3-1-1 in MIAC play, they’ll fight to split their series visiting Hamline on Saturday. Puck drop in St. Paul is set for 2pm.
