Esko’s Arntson named Vikings Coach of the Week heading into state semifinals

Five minutes was all the Esko football team needed to secure a class AAA quarterfinal victory Saturday. Down 21-14 in the 4th quarter they put up two touchdowns, one from Carter Zezulka in the last 15 seconds, to defeat New London-Spicer 28-21 and advance to the state semifinals.
"It feels awesome you know we’ve worked really hard as a team in the offseason as well. I think we’re all kind of prepared, we’re ready to go man, we want to play, we’re ready for war," exclaimed Zezulka.
Of their four state trips in the last decade this will be their first semifinal appearance. Now 11-0 their success hasn’t gone unnoticed. As on Monday head coach Scott Arntson learned he’s been named the Minnesota Vikings’ prep coach of the week.
"It’s the boy’s hard work, they’re the ones that have done all the heavy lifting. So it’s great to have that but they’re the ones that deserve all the praise I haven’t done anything with that," Arntson said.
Esko will kickoff againts Dassel-Cokato Saturday at 4:30pm, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
