Family and police continue to search for missing Bemidji teen
Bemidji Police continues to search for Nevaeh Leigh Kingbird, who has been missing since October 22, 2021. The family of 15-year-old Nevaeh, reported her as a runaway at that time. She was last seen leaving a Southview Terrace Park residence at about 2 a.m. on October 22.
With the weather warming, residents are getting out in their yards. The Bemidji Police Department is asking everyone to check outbuildings and other areas on their property where someone may seek shelter. Anglers should also be aware of their surroundings and report anything that may be related to Nevaeh.
According to the Bemidji Police Department, a large-scale search has been conducted over 500 acres. Authorities and volunteers walked the area and used drones and K-9 searches. Nevaeh was not found.
Nevaeh’s family, Christian Aid Ministries’ Minnesota Search and Rescue, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, Red Lake Tribal Police Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Lakes Area Dive Team, and Vigilant K9 operations all helped in the search.
Authorities say Nevaeh may have been wearing a red sweatshirt with a similar the logo as below.
It is believed Neveah was wearing either a black zip up hoody or a red sweatshirt with the above logo, blue skinny jeans, a white t-shirt or tank top, and black and red Nike sandals, refer to pictures above
