Fond du Lac Community Narcan Event held to raise awareness

RAAN and Tagwii Recovery hosted a Fond du Lac Community Narcan Event Wednesday afternoon.

Free Narcan was available to community members. Narcan can help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

“We’re trying to bring awareness to the opioid epidemic, making sure that community members have access to Narcan and know how to use it properly, and also taking the opportunity to educate community members on signs and symptoms of addiction and what some of those signs might look like in a home,” said Substance Use Disorder Department Coordinator Richard Colsen.

Colsen when on to say that those who need help shouldn’t feel any shame about reaching out for assistance.

“People should want to come into centers and access help. It’s difficult to do on your own. There are professionals out there who are going to help,” explained Colsen
