Former Duluth Police Chief Eli Miletich has died

His name was synonymous with policing in Duluth for more than three decades.
Eli Miletich, a retired Duluth police chief, has died at the age of 86.
Miletich graduated from Denfeld High School and from UMD. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Germany.
He retired as Police Chief of the City of Duluth after 33 years and worked worked as a member of the United Nations International Police Task Force in Bosnia.
Miletich passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by his family.
