Former Duluth restaurant owner charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct
William Kalligher, a 61-year-old Duluth man and former local restaurant owner, has been charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Kalligher, the former owner of Gannuci’s Italian Market, was charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree and two counts of attempted criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
One of the alleged victims, who was under the age of 16, described three specific instances of abuse that occurred between 2018 and 2019.
Court documents said the defendant and the alleged victim had a “familial relationship”.
A statement put out by the Duluth Police Department of Tuesday stated, “Kalligher wouldn’t have been apprehended without the victim-survivors being able to come forward and share their story. These victim-survivors showed strength and resilience to be able to hold Kalligher accountable for his actions. Good work by our investigators who worked tirelessly on this case to bring justice to the victim-survivors.”
