Former UMD netminder Maddie Rooney named to U.S. Women’s National Team

Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) netminder Maddie Rooney has made the 25-player roster for the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Team USA is looking to win their sixth straight gold medal august 20-31 as they are set to compete in the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in Calgary, Alberta.

Rooney was a member of the member of 2018 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Team. In addition, 8 Wisconsin Badgers and 7 Minnesota Golden Gophers are also on the roster.
