Grand Rapids senior quarterback Andy Thomsen suffered a severe cervical spine injury during a practice last Saturday.
On Monday he underwent a spinal fusion, which was successful.
Now the Thunderhakws have launched a GoFundMe page to help aid his family in the cost of his surgery and physical therapy.
Head football coach Greg Spahn said Thomsen walked off the field on his own, and never lost movement. He is currently recovering at the Hennepin Trauma Center.
The heart and soul of our team suffered an unfortunate injury last Saturday. He was flown from GR to HCMC, had surgery Monday, and is expected to make a full recovery. This fund is intended of offset medical expenses. Any contribution is appreciated!https://t.co/7W5pIN6NtI
