Gogebic County’s overnight winter parking ban begins Nov. 1
Gogebic County authorities are reminding residents that the county’s winter ban on parking overnight on rural highways begins Monday.
The rule applies to county roads and state highways outside of city limits. From Nov. 1 to April 15, vehicles cannot be parked on the roadway or the shoulder between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Vehicles parked in violation of the rule could be towed at the owner’s expense, and the owner could also be subject to a fine.
In sharing the news on social media, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies typically don’t start enforcing the rule until the first significant snowfall.
