Handwritten holiday cards for our local heroes
It feels good when you get a handwritten card. The feeling is something special and heart full. On Monday, some students at the University of Wisconsin at Superior took time out of their schedule to write nice messages to local service members or veterans.
Student and student leader of the campus veteran and non-traditional student center Claire Stangle talked to us about how much cards like these and other things coming from within the community can mean to our local heroes.
“This time of year, can be really hard for people. Especially for those “who severed or currently severing. They maybe away from their families. Holidays bring up a lot of emotions for people to feel connected to their community it means a lot.”
The university will be holding more events throughout the week to celebrate Veterans Day in honoring those who are currently severing and have served our country.
