The Duluth Huskies downed the Waterloo Bucks on the road Monday to secure the 20-year-old program’s first-ever first half playoff bid.
Duluth’s Devin Hurdle hit a three run homer in the fourth while Colin Burgess tallied a solo homer in the 7th to help secure the 8-3 win.
Heading into their first half finale Monday the Huskies needed either a win over the Bucks or an Eau Claire loss to clinch the Great Plains East. Duluth ends the first half with a record of 19-14 finishing a half game up on the Express.
The Huskies have Tuesday off and are back in action Wednesday at Wade Stadium to take on the Bismarck Larks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
