The Haunted Shack in Carlton has returned for its 28th season of haunted horrors. According to organizers, it is the longest running haunted attraction in the state. You can walk through the Maze of Horrors at night, or wander through the 8 acres during the day. There is something for everyone, from the pumpkin patch, to a petting zoo and hay rides.

Over the last few weeks, staff have transformed this working farm into the Haunted-Ridge. Known as “The Shack”, brave souls go through a maze of horrors, through a dizzying tour of ghoulish scenes haunted by real actors, pneumatic props, sensory platforms and state-of-the-art light and sound systems.

Organizers say they have added more animatronics and pneumatic props.

“By doing this we can cut back on actors which is getting very tough to get” Logan Stojevich stated, co-director of the haunted attraction said in a press release.

The Haunted-Ridge will be open October 15th, 16th, October 21st – 24th and October 28th – 30th. Nighttime showings are $15.00 per person. Thursday and Sunday show times are 7pm to 9pm. Opening night was Friday, October 8

Kids Days and the Faint of Heart (a tamed down version) will be October 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Kid’s Day admission is $10.00 per person.

All the money raised will go toward three area non-profits; The Area III Tri-Fecta Special Olympics, Kids for Coats Campaign and Chum Food Shelf.

Bring a non-perishable food item and receive $2.00 off admission price or a coat for the coat drive and receive $5 off admission price. Visit www.hauntedshack.com for more information
