A lightning strike knocked historic Split Rock light house out of commission for visitors for a couple days.
Light house director Hayes Scriven said a tree near the historic light house was blown apart by a lightning strike. He said a surge of electicity traveled through the parking lot lighting wires and blew out breakers at the light house but didn’t cause any other damage.
The visitor center will be closed for at least two days until they can make repairs.
