Duluth’s beloved Fourth Fest returned to Bayfront Festival Park Sunday.
The gates opened up at 4:00pm and there was a large crowd on hand waiting to get in.
The event offered concessions and live music for people to enjoy—all leading up to the fireworks show.
After last year’s event was canceled, there was a lot of excitement in the air.
"I’m just happy to be here,” Elliot Blanchette of Minneapolis said. “Just being able to celebrate the fourth after a tumultuous year that was 2020."
The City of Duluth purchased $50,000 worth of fireworks for Sunday’s show.
They were able to secure them before the firework shortage that impacted cities across the country.
