Man arrested after shots fired incident in Virginia

A man is in police custody tonight after a shots fired incident in Virginia Saturday afternoon.

Police say shortly after 4:15 they responded to a report of shots fired on the 1200 block of 5th Avenue north.

Witnesses told police that a man had fled into a residence on the 500 block of 11th Street north.

Authorities then set a perimeter around the residence and the suspect eventually surrendered without incident.

No one was reported to be injured.

The suspect is being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
