University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s basketball alum Vid Milenkovic hit 1,038 career points in his final season with the Yellowjackets in 2019-2020.
The 6’5” guard then hopped on a plane home to Switzerland joining the Swiss Basketball League (SBL). There he found success in his first season with the Starwings of Basel, averaging 8.4 points a game.
Then in late June he continued building his up his career signing a new contract with one of SBL’s top teams, Lions de Geneve.
"It was the opportunity to play for a better team and to compete for more titles," Milenkovic said. "They’re trying to play in the FIBA Europe Cup, which means you would play across Europe, and this was just something that I could not reject."
Gearing up to join the Lions Milenkovic reflected on his time in Superior. He said he’s very grateful for the experience he had learning under UWS under head coach Greg Polkowski.
"That experience I had at UWS and with him, and the whole city of Superior and the Twin Ports," Milenkovic said was unforgettable. "I just hope I can keep it going and represent myself the right way."
He is set to tip-off with his new squad later this fall.
