Minnesota GOP calls for the resignation of John Thompson

Saturday, the Republican Party of Minnesota released a statement calling for the resignation of Representative John Thompson.

Thompson represents the DFL, and the call for his resignation comes after the discovery of four domestic assault cases with his involvement.

The party says, ""Our elected officials should be held to the highest standard of citizenship and Rep. Thompson has consistently failed to meet that standard during his time in office."

And that, "Rep. Thompson’s actions are inexcusable and his constituents deserve full representation at the Minnesota House of Representatives."
