Minnesota State Fair finalizes health guidelines ahead of opening day

The Minnesota State Fair has finalized their health recommendations ahead of it’s opening, which is now just over a week away.

As of a release on August 18th, fair officials are urging fairgoers to wear a mask in both indoor and outdoor settings regardless of vaccination. That recommendation applies to those older than age two and who are medically able to wear one.

They are also reminding people that it is federally mandatory to wear masks on public transportation to and from the fairgrounds.

Officials also suggest visitors consider visiting the fair on less busy days, like during the week, to minimize crowds the risk of infection.

They will also be implementing a new tool called "Gopher Gauge" on the state fair’s website. The online gauge will tell visitors how busy the fairgrounds currently are for those thinking of visiting.
