Minnesota woman makes history as first female member of Blue Angels flight demo team

A Minnesota woman is making history as the first female pilot on the Navy’s elite Blue Angels flight demo team.

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Amanda Lee is from Mounds View.

She’s among six new officers joining the team for the upcoming 2023 season.

The new team members will report to the squadron in September and then they’ll go through a rigorous five-month training program.
