Multiple Hibbing residents arrested in multi-agency drug investigation

Multiple Hibbing residents were arrested Saturday night after a multi-agency drug investigation, according to a Sunday morning news release from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.

The release says authorities arrested five people around 8:00 Saturday night in connection with a month-long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine on the Iron Range.

The release says three of the people were arrested after a traffic stop in Itasca County yielded a "large quantity" of methamphetamine. Two others were arrested after a search warrant at a residence in Hibbing where a firearm and US Currency were then seized from the residence.

All five people involved have pending criminal charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

The ages and genders of the people arrested include a 58-year-old woman, 51-year-old man, 50-year-old man, 36-year-old man, and 19-year-old woman.

The Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, Hibbing Police Department, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, St. Louis County Emergency Response Team, Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, MN State Patrol, MN BCA, Grand Rapids Police Department, and the Southwest Corridor Task Force in Riverside, California assisted with the investigation.
