Centers showed up big in the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey’s 4-2 exhibition win over the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Sunday.
Tallying three of their four goals against the Badgers, that Bulldog squad proved they’re already prepared for a tough season opener at Bemidji State University on Friday.
"A lot of there top guys and lines are still in tact, and could be in tact from last year, so they’ll work some new guys in. We’re a little bit different," UMD head coach Scott Sandelin said. "We don’t have necessarily have two lines that played together last year. We had some guys that played together but we’re still working on that, and then you throw in some younger players and different looks."
The Bulldogs will get to see some of those different looks in Bemidji and at home. UMD will close out their home-and-home series at AMSOIL Arena on Saturday.
Puck drop for both of their first two games of the season are set for 7:07pm.
