No. 5 UMD men’s hockey suffers loss to No. 3 Michigan in Ice Breaker opener

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) mens hockey team faced of against Michigan University Friday night.

This tilt marked the start of the 2021 Ice Breaker tournament, with the Wolverines ranked No. 3, and UMD No. 5.

The Bulldogs would start the game off hot tallying their first goal near the 10 minute mark of the 1st period, off the stick of Jesse Jacques.

From there Michigan would take control scoring 5 unanswered goals, winning the game 5-1.

Next up UMD will play Saturday at 4:00 p.m against Providence.
